I always enjoyed staring a Cold War campaign, and getting to the point where I could launch the nukes. Even if it didn’t benefit me, it was fun to watch the world turn into a clusterfuck.
I also once played a campaign where the world was consolidated into me (I forget who I was, but I was based somewhere in the Middle East), the US, and China. (Also Japan was hanging out.) I was biggest, and campaigning towards the US capital. The US was diverting all their forces to campaigning towards the Chinese capital, because they were evidently oblivious to me. China was repeatedly invading Japan and failing. The US finally captured China, making them the biggest. On the next turn, I captured the US, making me the sole world power, save Japan and it’s single holding. I then stomped on Japan and became world dictator. I had like 30 bonus cards sitting around.

I love how the Inca WILL become a major player if Europe ignores America for more than a few turns.
