Transhumanistic Manifest-Panspermialism
No longer a huge part of my philosophy, but fun to say
My English teacher is going to be so fucking pissed

And it will be so glorious.

We had to do a watered-down version of the formalistic approach on Oedipus Rex.

The formalistic approach is stupid. The watered down version of it is even stupider.

This is my conclusion. I think it’s hilarious.

“There’s plenty of organic unity in Oedipus Rex. There’s irony, and the tragic hero and his journey. They come together to form tragedy, a vehicle for the tragedy, and an actualization of the tragedy. That makes the play a great work, with organic unity. But this analysis actually devalues the work. It is much greater, and has a much more important and progressive message: that the institution of the oracles is problematic. Oedipus Rex was far more progressive than the formalistic approach gives it credit for. Which is unsurprising, seeing as the formalistic approach is just the canonization of ancient themes into modern analysis, yet also ironic, because the formalistic approach took the Oedipus trilogy into account in its formative stages. The irony and tragedy here is so pungent that this analysis itself has organic unity, despite the fact that it doesn’t even have characters or a protagonist.”
